As a component of the Active Citizens project, the Mari Organization conducted a series of targeted dialogue sessions and awareness programs. These sessions centred on the significance of breastfeeding and marked active participation in the “Advocacy for Working Mothers” campaign, operating under the slogan “Let’s Enable Breastfeeding” within professional settings.
The campaign specifically focused on rural areas in both western and eastern Deir Ezzor. It included educational institutions, select health centers, and local committees involving teachers, health professionals, some doctors, and stakeholders.
During these sessions, discussions honed in on emphasizing the crucial role of breastfeeding for both infants and mothers. The conversations delved into the numerous challenges and obstacles faced by working women in balancing their responsibilities as mothers, especially concerning breastfeeding, while fulfilling their professional duties.
This campaign exemplifies Mari’s ongoing commitment to championing working mothers, aiming to create a supportive environment that enables them to actively participate in the labor market without compromising their essential role as caregivers.
