About AHAC:
Amal Healing and Advocacy Center (AHAC) is an organization led by women who specialize in empowering women and raising their capabilities. It aims to create a safe society for women in which they enjoy their full rights without discrimination or violence.
The organization seeks to achieve equality and prevent violence against women, whether within the family or society as a whole, through the following:
- Contribute to making a change in the status of women in Syrian society and support them by increasing their awareness of their rights and opportunities through advocacy campaigns, awareness-raising sessions, and meetings with decision-makers and key and influential people, whether in the refugee community or inside Syria.
- Providing psychosocial support services by providing safe spaces for women, girls, and children to carry out social activities that relieve life stresses due to asylum.
- Providing specialized services in the psychological and legal field for women affected by violence in all its forms. Especially in times of wars and crises, especially survivors of detention and sexual violence, families of victims of enforced disappearance, and victims of human rights violations in all its forms.
- Carrying out capacity-building activities and empowering women at all levels, whether in the political, legal, administrative, or professional fields, to be able to truly participate in public affairs or at the family level.
The aim of establishing the organization is to contribute to building a Syrian society based on justice, equality, and rights for all individuals, especially women and marginalized groups, including those with disabilities and those affected by violations, and responding in particular to their needs related to psychological and social support and legal advice.
The organization was established in 2014 in the Turkish city of Antakya, located near the Syrian-Turkish border, which hosts a large number of refugees from different regions in Syria.

Job Purpose
As the Receptionist and Healing Center Support, you will serve as the welcoming face of our center, providing essential administrative and support services to both our clients and staff. You will play a crucial role in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our clients and ensuring their visit is as comfortable as possible. This position also involves managing the preparation of tea and coffee for clients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Reception and Client Support:
- Greet clients and visitors with a warm and empathetic demeanor.
- Provide information about our services and programs to clients and visitors.
- Manage incoming phone calls, emails, and appointments, directing them to the
appropriate staff members.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
2. Administrative Support:
- Assist with scheduling client appointments and maintaining appointment records.
- Manage and update client intake forms and database records.
- Help in coordinating workshops, group sessions, and events by providing logistical support.
- Order and manage office supplies as needed.
3. Hospitality Services:
- Prepare and serve tea and coffee for clients and staff.
- Ensure the kitchen area is clean, well-stocked, and organized.
- Monitor and replenish refreshments and snacks for clients as needed.
4. Security and Privacy:
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling client information and interactions.
- Ensure the security of the premises by following established protocols.
Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience/Languages)
Essential:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional relevant education or training is a plus.
- Proficiency in Arabic and Turkish, and knowledge of the English language is a preference
- Previous experience in a similar role or within a counseling or advocacy environment is preferred.
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the healing of women.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in basic office software and phone systems.
- Respect for client confidentiality and privacy.
Working Conditions:
This position requires working in a trauma-sensitive environment and may involve interactions with clients who have experienced gender-based violence.
Regular office hours, with occasional evening or weekend hours for events or workshops.
