The Shawishka Association recently distributed breast cancer awareness brochures in select areas of Qamishlu city, which included doctors’ clinics, markets, and community centers. This initiative was part of their annual campaign, titled “#Because you’re the sweetness of life.”
The brochure featured crucial information, such as the definition of breast cancer, dietary considerations in combating breast cancer, and guidelines for self-detection, including various methods. It also emphasised the importance of seeking early detection at the Specialised Center for Early Detection of Breast Cancer, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Mammo Grammy Eco Doppler. The center is conveniently located in the western district of Qamishlu, and breast cancer screenings are provided free of charge throughout the year.
The brochure also shed light on the psychological aspects of patients dealing with breast cancer and stressed the need for husbands to provide unwavering support and care to their wives during this challenging journey. Husbands were reminded that their role is pivotal, as they are considered the first line of defense for their wives in the battle against breast cancer.
