Who we are:
Sada Al Janub is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that operates independently and is free from political or religious affiliations. Our mission is to deliver ethical and professional journalism, upholding the principles of political neutrality. We are committed to fostering discourse that is devoid of violence, discrimination, and hatred, guided by the core values of citizenship and human rights. Our aim is to contribute to peace-building and enhance social cohesion within our communities.
What we do:
The “Sada Al Janub” organisation, echoing the aspirations of the South, is dedicated to several key initiatives:
- Promoting Peace and Social Cohesion: We actively work towards peace-building and social cohesion by advocating for change and exerting pressure on pertinent issues.
- Fostering Civic Awareness: Our organisation is committed to cultivating civic awareness among citizens, guided by the principles and values of good citizenship.
- Empowering Youth and Women: We empower the youth and women of our community by equipping them with essential media skills. Additionally, we provide platforms and channels for them to voice their concerns and champion their causes.
- Youth and Women Engagement: We engage and activate the roles of both youth and women, integrating them into public affairs. Furthermore, we extend our support to address women’s and children’s causes and concerns.
- Advancing Media and Journalism: We continuously develop and enhance the field of media and journalism. Our efforts also include promoting media literacy among the populace.
Our operational focus encompasses the southern region of Syria, specifically Suwayda and Daraa. Our dedicated team consists of volunteers, including journalists and media activists, hailing from both of these provinces. Since our inception in mid-2020, we have remained committed to these objectives.
