Who we are:
Fanarat is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian development team based in Syria, founded in 2019. It focuses on empowering marginalised communities, including indigenous peoples, refugees, and migrants, through sustainable interventions and advocacy for social justice. The organisation aims to nurture the spirit of compassion and empathy, promote awareness of human rights issues, and foster critical thinking and awareness within the community. It strives to support and empower individuals, both men and women, and engage them in the management, planning, implementation, and evaluation of development projects, with a particular emphasis on women’s issues. The organisation is committed to addressing the diverse needs of the community, including education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and human rights, with a special emphasis on gender equality.
What we do:
Our mission is to empower marginalised communities by offering vocational training to both men and women, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed for sustainable livelihoods. Our objective is to bolster their self-reliance and advance the economic empowerment of individuals, especially those residing in rural areas. We strongly believe in inclusive development, where everyone has equitable access to opportunities and resources. Through training and support, our aim is to drive improvements in their socio-economic conditions and foster self-sufficiency.
