Duderi

Who we are:

Duderi is a Syrian organisation registered in Berlin, Germany. We firmly believe in the necessity of radical change through formulating an enlightening and awakening project. Duderi’s roots lie as a developmental initiative that works to bridge the gap between Arabs and Kurds. We recognise that true richness lies in diversity and inclusion, viewing them as sources of strength rather than closing circles. Our aim is to create a consistent Arab/Kurdish project from a gender perspective.

We are dedicated to exploring the root causes of failure, starting with conflicting local identities, victimhood conflicts, and influential references that draw from a stereotypical retrogressive perspective – Arab/nationalist, Kurdish/separatist, Islamic/loyalist/opposition.

Our ultimate goal is to thoroughly study the factors behind these tendencies, conflicts, and transformations from one stage to another. By doing so, we seek to avoid sectarian polarisations and divisions that have divided the Syrian street into destructive and divisive dualities. The regional Syrian environment hinders the political solution and activates these dualities. Our overarching mission is to achieve sustainable peace and translate it into a state of fully equal citizenship, without discrimination and exclusion based on gender, ethnicity, or religion. In the process, we aim to establish a cohesive national identity through Syrian-Syrian dialogue.

Dudiri’s future vision stems from the conviction that real change cannot occur without an enlightening/progressive project. Therefore, Dudiri is known as a developmental initiative that begins by bridging the gap between Arabs and Kurds in Syria and then redefines the concept of citizenship without discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, or gender.

Dudiri believes that true wealth lies in diversity rather than closed ranks, and it starts from this diversity to produce a harmonious and reconciled Arab/Kurdish project from a gender perspective. It seeks to study the reasons for failure, starting from conflicting local identities to influential signals rooted in a regressive perspective, whether they are Arab/unified, Kurdish/separatist, leftist/secular, or Islamic/extremist. The goal is to study the underlying factors behind these tendencies and conflicts and their evolution through different stages, taking into account the sectarian divisions that continually divide the Syrian street into destructive and polarizing divisions, which can be active or dormant depending on the Syrian or regional environment.

What we do:

Duderi works on developmental issues through conducting research studies from a gender perspective, holding on-the-ground dialogues both in countries hosting refugees and within Syria. We advocate for issues and outcomes with international and local decision-makers while building partnerships with Syrian and international organisations.
