Who we are:

The Arab Austrian Women’s Organisation, established in May 1997, is a social-cultural organisation initiated by a group of Arab women. They recognised the necessity of a specific framework to regulate the activities of Arab women in Vienna.

What we do:

Our main objectives include:

  1. Strengthening the bonds between Arab community families. Addressing their concerns through social and cultural activities.
  2. Familiarising the new generation in Austria with their cultural identity by:                                                                                                             a) Organising Arabic language courses for children and adults, (Arabs and non-Arabs).
    b) Hosting various cultural and heritage activities to showcase the positive aspects of Arab culture, and introduce the youth to it.
    c) Establishing the first Eastern orchestra, Eastern choir, and music and singing workshops.
    d) Creating a theatre group.
    e) Forming a folk heritage group.
  3. Addressing the diverse situations of Arab women to help them overcome the challenges they face in the new society, and assisting in addressing educational issues.
  4. Involving women from the Arab region in the association’s events and activities, regardless of their ethnic, religious, or national affiliations.
