Who we are:
“Dawlaty” is a non-profit organisation committed to nonviolence and peaceful resistance. Our focus is a peaceful democratic transformation, advocating for a Syria that upholds human rights, equality, tolerance, and diversity. Our goal is to empower civil society, fostering active participation in Syria’s transition toward a just and democratic state. Additionally, we seek to cultivate civil values and life skills among youth, encouraging their involvement in community and national development.
Furthermore, “Dawlaty” is dedicated to establishing an archive, encompassing stories and artistic works that commemorate the Syrian uprising and spotlight the experiences and voices of marginalised groups in the conflict. Operating both on-site and online, our organisation engages in documentation, advocacy, capacity building for youth and civil society, as well as providing support to victim groups and affected families dealing with arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance. We collaborate extensively with various Syrian solidarity organisations to amplify the collective voice of the Syrian community.

- Engaging women and youth in constructive participation in their communities is vital. Moreover, we support them to exercise and shape civic and democratic values.
- In the realm of amplifying voices, we focus on Syrian civil society and marginalised groups, particularly emphasising young individuals. This approach aims to achieve a greater impact in conflict resolution, facilitate democratic transition, and influence the agenda for transitional justice processes.
- Our commitment extends to safeguarding peaceful activists. We also work on promoting peaceful mobilisation as a means to garner support for democratic transition, values, and transitional justice within Syrian communities.
