About Us:
Duderi e.V. is an association registered in Berlin, Germany. “Duderi” means “The Two Doors” in Kurdish. The name reflects our vision: “One door is not enough to enrich thoughts”. Real change is only possible through a comprehensive approach to peace-building. Duderi believes that rebuilding the human being is a core issue in the post-conflict reconstruction process. Duderi is mainly a civil and political development initiative that works to bridge the gap of distrust between Arabs and Kurds in Syria as a priority, and aims to reformulate the concept of citizenship, based on equality without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, or any other basis.
Summary About the Project:
“Education for peacebuilding”
The project aims to engage a wide range of communities and build alliances that would contribute to a peaceful settlement of the conflict. Through sustained dialogue across communities, the project aspires to develop an active network around the issue of education, which could be mobilized in the future to address other issues. In addition to serving its main purpose in terms of education, the network will act as an important carrier of change in Syria’s peace process. The project focuses on education as one of the fundamental tools in catalysing change, by creating a network of changemakers that share a commitment to an inclusive, diverse, and just future. The project will facilitate dialogue on the democratic reconstruction of Syria and in the process spread awareness among the different communities reached.
